Privacy Policy
This is the privacy policy for Artovan, a watch-first filmmaking companion for Android. The short version is below; the long version follows for completeness.
The short version
- Your recordings transit your phone directly to your own Google Drive. They do not pass through any server we operate.
- We do not collect analytics, tracking pixels, advertising IDs, or telemetry from the app.
- We use Google Sign-In only to obtain the Drive scope you grant. You can revoke it at any time from your Google account.
- The website you are reading does not set cookies and does not run analytics.
1. What we collect
The Artovan Android app collects, stores, and transmits the minimum data required to function:
- Your Google account identifier and Drive access token, after you grant it via Google Sign-In. These are stored on your device.
- Your recordings, project metadata, and sidecar files, which are stored locally on your device and uploaded to a folder of your choosing inside your own Google Drive.
- Crash logs, if and only if you explicitly opt in. They are sent through Google Play's standard crash reporting and contain no recording content.
2. What we do not collect
- No advertising identifiers.
- No location data.
- No contacts, calendars, photos outside of what you explicitly import.
- No usage analytics. No event telemetry. No session recordings.
- No third-party SDKs other than Google Play Services for sign-in and Drive.
3. Where data lives
On your device: recordings, project structure JSON, the reference clips you have chosen, and your Drive access token.
In your Google Drive: uploaded recordings and their sidecar JSON, in the folder you configured during setup. We do not have access to this folder. We do not see its contents.
On our servers: nothing about your project. We do not run a backend that stores user data.
4. Third parties
Artovan uses these third-party services only:
- Google Sign-In — for authentication.
- Google Drive — for storage of your own recordings, in your own account.
- Google Play Services — for app delivery and (opt-in) crash reporting.
5. How long we keep things
On-device data is kept until you delete the app or the data inside it. Drive data is kept according to your own Google account retention. We retain nothing.
6. Your rights
You can revoke Drive access at any time from your Google account permissions page. You can delete on-device data by clearing the app's storage or uninstalling. Because we hold no copy of your data, there is nothing for us to delete on your behalf.
7. Children
Artovan is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
8. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially, the change will be reflected in the version string at the top and announced to invited testers by email.
